About Us

Mentoring, Enriching & Empowering is our Main Goal

As a teenage girl, learning to be independent and successful is complicated enough without having to deal with society’s consistent challenges. The MSHFG program is a unique method of mentoring that assists mentee’s in developing a symbolic relationship during difficult stages throughout their life.

Our program realizes that most of our young ladies are missing essential skills that lead to poor decision making. As we focus on improving academic and social competence, it is important for our young girls to receive assistance from women who have paved the way.

Our program empowers girls to tap into their hidden potential and expand their vision of limitless opportunities.

We are seeking caring, committed adult volunteers to mentor young girls ages 10-18.

My Sister’s House for Girls seeks to prepare all girls to Meet Society’s challenges through a symbolic and supportive mentoring relationship.

What People
Say About Us

What can I say about Mrs. LaDonna Knabbs? Mrs. Knabbs possesses work ethic skills that can’t go unrecognized. She is dedicated to making My Sister House for Girls the best non-profit organization that serves girls at every level. Her passion and willingness to reach and teach these young ladies are above all else. LaDonna’s professionalism when it comes to completing projects or organizing ideas speaks for itself. It is a blessing to have a dynamic, hard worker, strong, confident, motivated, honest, dependable, and responsible woman fighting for young ladies that can’t fight for themselves.

Kim Barnett, My Sister's House For Girls, Parent

With the help of the My Sister’s House for Girls program I successfully graduated high school, graduated from the University of Toledo with my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Criminal Justice, and now help first generation students like myself get prepared for college with the Bowling Green State University Upward Bound TRiO program. I owe all my success to the help from LaDonna Knabbs and this amazing program inside My Sister’s House for Girls.

I’ve been fortunate enough to see the My Sister’s House Organization grow from its inception, and throughout the years they have been consistent, impactful, and effective. I credit this to the trail-blazing change agent LaDonna Knabbs. She is innovative, passionate, and genuine.

Her creative approach to programming is person-centered, she doesn’t believe in a one size fits all program, which I think is her secret to success. If you have the chance to work with LaDonna, you are better for it. She inspires everyone she meets and helps everyone she encounters.

Mrs. Knabbs is a gifted organizer and thought-provoking educator. She has the ability to take complex ideas and create concrete action steps. These action steps are rooted in research designed to achieve maximum impact. She organized and developed partnerships to create internships for high school students. The best moments shared with my mentor are when she shared her personal and professional life challenges with me. It helped me realize how we are similar in so many ways. Our regular conversation helped me grow immensely both personally and professionally.
